THE Myanmar JUNTA-APPOINTED UNION ELECTION COMMISSION (UEC) HAS ORGANIZED OR ENGAGED IN VARIOUS SHAM ELECTION-RELATED ACTIVITIES, WHICH WE MONITOR AND UPDATE ON THIS BLOG Monthly.

UEC accelerated sham election-related activities this month. Most noteworthy activities include:
- UEC rejected applications of four political parties for registration - Arakan National Party (ANP), Kachin National Congress (KNC), Democracy and Human Rights Party, and Pyithu In Aar Party (People's Strength Party), while the application of Peace and Diversity Party to register was approved.
- UEC organised the demonstration of use of Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) while meeting the representatives from Myanmar War Veterans Organization and Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association.
- Representatives from UEC and four political parties (Union Solidarity and Development Party, Arakan Front Party, People's Party, Shan and Nationalities Democratic Party) were invited by the Communist Party of China for a visit/observation mission.
